Breaking Free by Rachel Jeffs

This book was very enlightening to read, knowing more about the cult and how it operates.
I don't understand how a person could be okay with following someone when they know that that person is lying about them and punishing them for things they didn't do.  People knew that Warren Jeffs lied about somethings and yet they continued to follow his lead.  It doesn't make sense when it becomes so extreme.

Rachel is extremely resilient, that part is definitely true.  I know that there is no way I would have been able to stay as long as she did.  The first time he tried taking me away from my kids I would have left.  No ifs ands or buts about it.

Ms. Jeffs did not retell her life for sympathy and so I don't hold any sympathy towards her but I was happy to read her story.  It brings to light the power that some men can hold over others.
